Research
Research on drugs, addictions and hidden populations is Episteme Social’s main area of expertise. At Episteme we have carried out research of a very diverse nature. Both qualitative and quantitative methodologies have been used. The subjects of our research are also of a different order, although with a special preponderance in the field of drugs: alcohol, cannabis, fentanyl, heroin, opioids, cocaine and other substances. As well as in different populations: adolescents, women, sex workers, migrants, young people, addicts over 50 years of age, unaccompanied minors, fathers and mothers, prison or institutionalised population.
We have also carried out various research projects as a needs assessment, as a first crucial step in drawing up a municipal addiction plan. In addition to study work based on secondary data and bibliographic review. If you have any questions about conducting research, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@epistemesocial.org.
Evaluation
The evaluation of addiction prevention programs is one of Episteme’s strengths. In recent years, program evaluation has become an unavoidable necessity for most programs that for years have operated without any kind of evaluative action, especially outcome and impact evaluation.
Episteme carries out evaluation at all levels: needs, design, process, outcomes, and impact. We can evaluate any type of social intervention program, although our expertise lies in the field of addiction prevention programs. Episteme’s evaluations are always ad hoc, adjusted as much as possible to the reality of the programme. In no case do we use pre-established models or matrices that are so common in social evaluation. Our evaluation designs are always robust, our techniques valid and reliable and our fieldwork genuine and innovative. The aim is to provide evaluation-derived data that enables the best strategic decisions to be made.
If you have come here looking for information on how to evaluate or who can evaluate a social intervention programme, please do not hesitate to write to us at info@epistemesocial.org.
