Main Objective:

“Tékne” is an intranet programme designed to enhance the quality of plans, programmes, projects, and preventive actions. It achieves this by implementing an intuitive and user-friendly information system to manage the quality of preventive measures, positioning programmes for accreditation on the Good Practices Portal of the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs (DGPNSD, in Spanish), the Good Practices Portal of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), or other accreditation systems.

Summary:

The requirements for evaluation, planning, design, resources, implementation, and dissemination vary significantly (EMCDDA, 2019). The European Quality Standards for Drug Addiction Prevention (EMCDDA, 2011) offer an excellent framework for standardising prevention activities, aiming to guarantee high quality and, consequently, excellent effectiveness rates. However, in Spain, the practical impact of European standards or other quality frameworks for prevention remains limited. While many programmes meet several quality standards, they often do so in a fragmented manner or lack the internal coherence required to demonstrate their effectiveness robustly.

The need to enhance quality and effectiveness is widely acknowledged among professionals, yet the central question remains: “How can it be improved?”

“Tékne” addresses this need by providing a practical, intuitive, and adaptable information management system. Its goal is to position programmes favourably for certification and accreditation on the DGPNSD Good Practices Portal or the EMCDDA portal. If “episteme” represents the “why,” then “tékne” embodies the “how.”
