A practical guide to evaluating local drug prevention plans

Abstract

The “Practical Guide for the Evaluation of Local Plans for the Prevention of Addictions” is a tool that responds to the need to improve the evaluation processes of local plans for the prevention of addictions. The Dependency and Social Vulnerability Service of the Department of Social Sustainability, Life Cycle and Community of the Diputació de Barcelona has first-hand knowledge of the difficulties faced by local authorities in terms of evaluation, having noted that most professionals perceive evaluation as a complex and burdensome process that requires specialised knowledge. Therefore, one of the expected effects of this guide is to change this negative perception in order to turn evaluation into a relatively simple and enriching process that allows the implementation of quality preventive actions.
